Mission 15: Rookies

Mission:
Rookies
Team:
Veteran Will Furno with rookies Julius Nex and Nathan Evo
Objective:
Defend Tanker Station 22.
Nex's Log:
When me and Evo heard that we were going to help defend Tanker Station 22 we were both exited and a bit nervous, or at least I was. When we landed one of the veterans came to greet us. I wasn't sure what to say but Evo introduced us for me.
"Nathan Evo and Julius Nex reporting for duty sir."
"At-ease. I'm William Furno. I will be your training instructor for the next few days." He spoke with a firm but fair voice like he knew how we felt which was quite likely because he was a rookie not so long ago.
"We still have to train?" I asked, it was a stupid question but I didn't know what else to say.
Furno smiled "Of course. You may be on mission but you still need to be as ready as ever. Now follow me."

We followed Furno to a were house filled with empty oil canisters. Half the roof had been torn off, presumably by one of the fire villains. I looked at the oil canisters again and saw that some of them were placed in strategic places as if they were like targets. Of course, why hadn't he figured it out sooner, it was target practice.
Furno took aim and shot one of the oil canisters with ease.
"Looks easy doesn't it." He said. "Well looks can be deceiving. Evo, your turn. Time to show me what you can do."
"Yes sir." He said while taking aim with his weapon. I've known Evo long enough to be able to tell you that he is a up-close fighter rather than a long distance sniper but he probably could hit 5 or 6 of the oil canisters. He took a shot and narrowly missed his target. Frustrated he took a second shot without thinking this time he missed the target by a long shot. He then calmed down and took a calm and focused shot which hit the target dead on. After a couple more shots Furno gestured for Evo to let me have a go.
I took my first shot and hit the oil canister dead on. With my second shot came another direct hit. I kept blasting until all the canisters were down.
"Nice shooting Nex." Furno congratulated "No misses what so ever."
"He was like that back at the factory." Evo said. "Not once did he miss a shot."
I was about to thank them both when an explosion from above diverted my attention. It was one of the fire villains, Jetbug!
"Sorry to interrupt but I believe you have something that belongs to me." The villain said.
"And what would that be?" Evo asked, actually it was more like an order.
"My fuel!" He screamed as he fell in and opened fire. We narrowly avoided the explosion that could of blown us to pieces.
"You two contact the others for back-up." Furno ordered. "I'll detract Jetbug."
We nodded then went to find cover. Evo started trying to communicate with the other hero's "Come in. Do you reed. We need back up immediately."
"Any luck?" I asked.
"No." Evo replied. "Jetbug must be jamming our communications."
An explosion made me look round and I saw a haunting site. Furno had been knocked unconscious by one of Jetbug blast.
"Stay here and keep trying to call for help." I ordered. "It looks like target practice is about to go up a level."
I took a couple of shots but he was to fast for me. I stayed calm and took my time. Slowly taking aim and then... FIRE!!! I hit Jetbug dead on and he fell to the ground. I went to Hero-Cuff him. The villain got up quickly and took a shot at me but thankfully Evo saved me.
"No sense in hanging around here." Jetbug said and with that he flew off.
I then ran over to Furno to check if he was all right.
"Good job Nex." He said. "You too Evo."
"Reinforcements are on there way sir." Evo said.
"Good." Furno said. "I wonder if Stormers going to believe this."
"You were amazing Nex." Evo told me.
"Thanks." I said. "But Jetbug's still out there, and we have to catch him if Tanker Station 22 is going to be secure again..."

2011 Hero Review: Furno 2.0

Hi,
My brother got Furno 2.0 same time he got the Furno Bike. He's okay but I like all the others a lot better (I'll talk about why when I get onto the design) so I wouldn't really recommend buying him unless you really want to. Now onto the review...

The build was quite good. I would say its average for the new Hero's. Still it is better than 2010 so I'll give the build a 8/10

Now for the knew pieces. Most are the same as Surge 2.0 but in red. He has his Hero-badge with Furno 2.0 written on it. My favourite part however is the new piece on the weapon that reminds me of the Piraka foot from Bionicle. I'll give the new pieces a 10/10

Now for the Design. When I saw preliminary pics didn't really think he looked that good because of his head which lets the set down a lot and also, because he's arguably the main character, it lets the rest down. But when he was released the goggles didn't come out as far as I thought but it still would be nice to have something covering the mouth like on a lot of the others. Like all the others there's the hollow back which I talked about in the review of Surge 2.0. I'll give the design a 6/10

Playability, same as Surge 2.0, it's better than the 2010 hero's because of the bendable limbs they have. I'll give the playability a 6/10

Overall, he's a good figure but as I said in design the head lets him down a lot. I'll give him an overall rating of 7/10

I hope you enjoyed this review of Furno 2.0. Bellow is my brothers opinion of this set. Please comment and follow,

Furno 2.0 Opinion
Hi,
Above is my review of Furno 2.0 and here is my brothers opinion on it. I gave it a overall rating of 7/10 but I'm not sure what my brother thinks about him...

I like the awesome new armour that attaches using the ball-and-socket system. I also like the brand new weapon design because it can also be like a shield. I do not really like the leg because they aren't symmetrical. I disagree with my brother and am going for a higher overall rating of 8/10

That was my brothers opinion of Furno 2.0 and I hope you enjoyed it. The next review with be of Stormer 2.0 and the next post will be of the third part of Mission 2.0 which will be titled Mission 15: Rookies. Please comment and follow,

2011 Hero Review: Surge 2.0

Hi,
I got Surge 2.0 the same time I got Jetbug. I didn't get Surge last year but this year I did and he is awesome. However if your not to sure about 2.0 then I would suggest getting Stormer 2.0 or Evo 2.0 to get more of a feel of what these new sets has to offer. I was planing to get Stormer 2.0 but the shop I went to only had Surge 2.0, Furno 2.0 and Breez 2.0 so I got Surge 2.0 and I also got Furno 2.0 for my brother. Anyway, lets get on with the review...

The build was a lot better than the heroes we had in 2010. There isn't much going on compared to Jetbug but it was still good. I'll give the build a 8/10

Now for the new pieces I'm not going to go into much detail because a lot of them are very similar to Jetbug. There is a new head piece which uses the mini-pins which are popular in these new sets. There is also his exclusive head piece which has a cool scope. There is also a skull cap in blue. He also has a new chest which has a new Hero-Core which is now smaller because the bottom has been cut of. Finally he comes with his unique Hero-Badge which has his name printed on it. I'll give the new pieces a 10/10

Now for the design. I introduced this new concept to my reviews when I did Jetbug and I hope that you enjoy it. He looks very good from the front and sides but turn it onto the back an its completely hollow which is quite annoying, especially with the white under armour which has a lot of contrast against the black skeleton. I'll give the design a rating of 7/10

Playability is better than the 2010 hero's because of the bendable limbs they have. I'll give the playability a 6/10

Overall, I think this is a good set but as I said above I would not suggest getting him first. Overall he is a great figure and I'm giving him a overall rating of 8/10

Thanks for reading my review of Surge 2.0 and next will be Furno 2.0. Please share your thoughts,

2011 Villain Review: Jetbug

Hi,
As I said back in my review of the Furno Bike the next review would be of the new 2011 set: Jetbug. He's a cool figure but he does have a few cons that I will get onto later. I was hoping to get Nitroblast instead but I couldn't find him so I went for my second favourite and I really like him. Now on with the review...

The build was awesome. There is a new building style which is on all the new sets. The armour attaches on with ball and socket joints so its an easy build which has a under skeleton and then the armour on top. On the new armour there are some mini-pins which are used for attaching extra armour or spikes and on this model flames are attached using the mini-pins. There are still some remnants of the old building style as the body has some gaps were pins can be connected, these parts can also be found on the arms and legs. Another remnant is the axles which are still used on the hands and weapons so they still have there basic purpose. As you may have already guessed, with all this new stuff I am going to give the build a 10/10

Now for the new pieces. Since there is a new building style there are a lot of new pieces that go along with it. A lot of new arm/leg pieces which have a maximum of 2 ball joints each. There is also a new body piece which is very skinny and has 9 ball joints on it which is a lot. There's also a new range of amour pieces and on of them has a cool kid of printing on it which I think is the villain version of the Hero-Badge except without the name on it. There is also a new flame piece which is used as part of the jetpack on him. Finally, the head. It is a con for me because it two faces in one, Nitroblast one side and Jetbug on the other which means the back just looks really bad and I don't think that MoCing can fix that. The head marks it down a bit so I'm giving the new pieces a 9/10

Now for a new concept in my reviews, the design. The design is basically how the character looks and whatnot. I will be doing it in all my reviews from now on so I hope you enjoy it. The front of the character looks really good and that's the strong point. The spikes add a lot more on to his character which is cool. However when you turn to the back you see Nitroblast's head and I did just say about this in the new pieces part of the review. Fortunately the jetpack covers the hollow back which is a con for the new Hero's and a side-effect of the new building style. I'll give the design a 7/10

Playability is basically the same as ever but the articulated jetpacks give it a bit more so I'll give the playability a 7/10

Overall, I like Jetbug a lot but I don't think many other people will because he doesn't really fit in with the 'fire' theme too well. I'll give him an overall rating of 7/10

I hope you enjoyed my review of the 2011 villain: Jetbug. The next reviews won't be as long because this one was introducing what the 2011 sets have in store and whatnot. Please share your thoughts,

2010 Vehicle Review: Furno Bike

Hi,
My brother got the Furno Bike towards the end of January and both me and him are very impressed with it. Its a great size for the price and comes with a decent figure of Furno. If you remember my first 2010 review as of Will Furno so I decided to end with the Furno Bike. I did miss 3 sets, Mark Surge, Thunder and Meltdown, which I may get some time later in the year but after this I am moving onto 2011. Lets get on with the review.

The build was good. It had an interesting design which left the middle hollow but its covered up by armour so it doesn't matter and filling it in would increase the price so its kind of a pro that its hollow however it does mark the build down so I'll give it a 9/10

There are not many new pieces. Six are on Furno but they are common in the new sets. There are a good amount of recolours on the bike but no new piece so far as I know. I'm giving the new pieces a 8/10

Playability is good. Its got a good bit of durability but gets boring after a while. If you have a few villains for it to fight then its great but alone not so great. It also comes with two Meteor Launchers but they are probably called something different when used by Hero's. I'll give it a 8/10

Overall its great. I like that it comes with Furno but I think it would have been better if they gave him a different helmet and a different name to give some diversity. I really like this set so I'm giving it a overall rating of 9/10

I hope you enjoyed this review. Bellow is my brothers opinion of this set. Please comment and follow,

Furno Bike Opinion
Hi,
Above is the review of the Furno Bike and now its time to do my brothers opinion on it. I gave the set a 9/10 Lets see what he gives it...

The part I really like about this set is the engine design at the back and the neon-orange pieces are very effective. I also like the massive wheels because they were a lot bigger than I thought they would be and the way how they are connected. The part I don't like is that when I was building the inside was hollow and it made the build less enjoyable. Because it is really cool I am giving it a overall rating of 10/10 (Just)

That was my brothers opinion of the Furno Bike. Next will be the first 2011 review of Jetbug., followed buy Surge 2.0 and Furno 2.0. Please comment and follow,

Mission 14: Upgraded

Mission:
Upgraded
Team:
Veterans Preston Stormer, Will Furno, Natalie Breez and Mark Surge
Objective:
Retake Tanker Station 22.
Stormer's Log:
Last mission went really bad. It seemed like Von Ness all over again but I'm glad that we all made it out all right. After the mission was over everyone at HeroFactory were working on a new armour system to protect hero's in future missions. Also, we weren't planning to let our defeat go unpunished so now were going back into the inferno with the new armour system, ice canons and built in state-of-the-art headgear to communicate, spy and many other things that are vital if we hope to win this battle. It was now time for these villains to get a taste of HeroFactory 2.0
Our Drop Ship was now close to the mission site and I could see two villains, Nitroblast and Jetbug, standing on the edge of the station. I used my headgear to hear what they were saying.
"Hero's!" Jetbug exclaimed. "What are they doing back here?"
"They must be slow learners." Nitroblast said. "Lets see if they'll get the message this time."
Nitroblast fired his Lava Sphere Shooter at us.
"Brace yourselves!!!" I shouted.
BOOM!!! Our Drop Ship was hit and we were falling fast. We hit the ground hard and we'd tour apart a bit of piping as we slid along a not so welcoming surface. Everyone was okay, a few scratches but the new armour had prevented any fatal injuries.
First to greet us was Jetbug. Drilldozer was coming at us from behind and Nitroblast arrived last with his weapons ready to burn us to a spare parts. We were surrounded.
"Surge! Breez! You take on Nitroblast." I ordered. "Furno! You go for Jetbug. I'll take down our silent friend over there."
"Yes Alpha leader!" The all said as I went to take down Drilldozer.
Unfortunately, he was ready for me and used his shoulder mounted Lava Sphere Shooter. I hit the sphere with my Double-Barrel Ice Cannon and a explosion of steam gave me an advantage to catch him from behind. I used my headgear to see through the steam. Drilldozer was obviously annoyed and he couldn't find see anything in the steam. I got up behind him and opened fire. Unlike last time my weapon affected him really well. He began to fall and I made the mistake of thinking he was defeated. I tried to Hero-Cuff him but failed, he hit me hard with his drill and I went flying out of the steam that had been my ally earlier in the fight.
"You can not defeat me hero!" Drilldozer said.
"So you can talk!" I said, kind of amazed. "That will make the interrogation a whole lot easier."
He then decided to shut his mouth again and let his drill do the talking. I jumped over him and decided that the Hero-Cuffs weren't the best idea so I used the new Hero-Charge instead. I planted the device on his back and he was drained of his energy.
I hoped that Furno, Surge and Breez had done the same but I soon found out they hadn't.
"Stormer! Get Down!" Furno shouted just in time. I narrowly missed Jetbug's blast. Together, me and Furno opened fire on Jetbug but he was too fast for us and he then flew into the pipe systems.
"He must be going to help Nitroblast." Furno said.
"We need to get to Surge and Breez!" I said. "Now!"

We got there just before Jetbug and we opened fire on the villains.
"Drilldozer's down!" Jetbug informed Nitroblast while constantly shooting at us. "We can't defeat them without backup."
"Then we have no alternative." Nitroblast said. "We have to retreat."
"But!"
"Silence! They may win this battle but the war will be a different story."
Then Nitroblast unleashed a massive wave of fire and before we knew it they were gone.

We did a basic clean up and checked to make sure the villains weren't still around. Capturing Drilldozer was a big victory but we still had a long way to go until Tanker Station 22 is safe. I saw a Drop Ship coming in with two figures on it.
"Rookies?" Furno asked.
"Yep!" I replied. "Nex and Evo, fresh of the assembly line. Good luck training 'em Furno."
"Wait!"  He said but I was already walking away with a smile on my face. 1 down, 3 to go. Hopefully with help from the rookies we'll be able to take on the Fire Villains and capture them once and for all. Today is the beginning of a new age in HeroFactory, the age of 2.0
